Hi TommTee,

Sorry, to hear you are having trouble with your SATA HDD's. We will do everything we can to help you find out what is going on.

First of all, I would like you to check they are plugged in correctly. Make sure the cables are not loose.

From the sound of the error message: "not accessible request failed due to fatal device hardware error" it sounds like they are both failing, but to be sure.

I would like you to follow these two links to find out if your hard drives are in good health and then let us know the results.

If the drives work fine when installed in the PC's, I would try another SATA to USB adapter... Sounds like the controller on the adapter is no good.

Wait so theres a windows 10 image that is on it? What os is it that your trying to use the external drive on? If it was formatted gpt and the os your trying to copy it on is mbr that might be the issue. While in disk management can you take a picture and post it on the forum so we can see the os hard drive and what you see when the external drive is plugged in?

Tom is giving the specs of the adapter, and that he used it to Image a drive. The adapter is just a link between the PC and Hard Drive...not a storage device.

I second the vote on replacing or trying a different SATA adapter the common factor trying to get these hard drives to initialize is the adapter.
