#1
Hello All,

I'm new here and I'm running out of idea how to get my laptop back and up running
I have Toshiba Laptop, windows 8 and successfully upgraded to window 10 about 2 weeks ago.

Last night had automatically critical windows update and since it failed to reboot
Did automatically repaired few times and restart but still failed.
Try system restore it failed too Sad

Same error messages and is due to driver of ESET security
I tried to delete the driver on command prompt

TYPE ON COMMAND PROMPT:
DEL /F /S /Q /A "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\epfwwfp.sys"

I received error message
A device attached to the system is not functioning

Any help will much appreciated!

Thanks!

if you are running ESET Smart Security, it is related to ESET software.

Can you boot to Safe Mode with Networking? or Do you need help in doing that? Once boot to Safe Mode you can remove that file with this command

Code:
DEL /F/S/Q/A "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\epfwwfp.sys"

Make sure you are at this location in command prompt C:\WINDOWS\system32> then use the command DEL /F/S/Q/A "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\epfwwfp.sys"

If that did not work try this command first cd/
You should now be at this location in command prompt C:\
Now try use that command at C:\ [b]DEL /F/S/Q/A "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\epfwwfp.sys"[/b]

let us know if it works.

Hello There,

Thank you so much for the tips ! I manage to delete the driver in command prompt.
Afterwards the laptop then restarted to system restore a day before.
It gave me a chance to do all the back up and reinstalled updates again, all went well.

Then I tried to open some application such as photos, window store, it didn't work
Message " this app can't open".. I tried to open window store too but it didn't open...

I wonder what is wrong with the updates?
Has anyone encountered the same problem I am having?

What shall I do.....

Thanks again !
