CrystalDiskInfo Accurate?
#1
Exclamation
Hi,
I would like to know how accurate the readings are for CrystalDiskInfo?
I can't have all three drives being flagged for bad sectors. I have scanned all of these drives in the past with Vivard and have used them with no issues what so ever.

As Compton states its pretty accurate but you should also test with manafcturers HDD tools, just keep an eye on those reallocated sector counts, if they start rising after a few boots/read/writes then back that stuff up and look at getting a new drive.

It may not be anything to worry about for some time or it could fail tomorrow, it all depends on what the manafacturers have set as their drives limit count ( of which there is no way of knowing).

Run check disk and then scan again with CrystalDiskInfo.

Bugger even linux diskhealth checker states my 4TB HDD has bad sectors.

To top it off the connector for the USB cable just broke and now the partition table is corrupted and all data is lost. Unless some one knows how to recover the corrupted partition so i can back all the information up.

P.S: I did original have it backed up but needed the backup drive for something else at the time (2 days ago) and never got around to re-backing up
