Should I upgrade to Windows 10

my question is :


What are the benefits to an ordinary user of Windows 10 from Windows 7 / 8 / 8.1

Free upgrades from 10 onwards....providing you can ever get it to work properly.

WaaS system, which means MS will have to fix any problems with it leaving us techies to do real work.

Windows 10 when fully bug free will be fast and smooth to use with added security. BUT then comes the spyware issue, which is a bit much in my honest opinion. It will come down to user choice whether they want to use it or not. A lot of people love it and don't give a crap or don't know about spyware. Do we need to be worried? well its a bit late for that now, we are already being monitored in just about any bit of technology we use. 

What are people worried about? 

• What you're downloading?
• Shopping habits?
• What porn sites you use?
• Spying on your Social Media habits?
  

If you are that worried use Linux, then Microsoft can spy on you. I think its going to become a nightmare for computer techs and it won't be long before your be paying for that windows 10 when you change a bit of hardware, this is seen as a new computer, which means new licence.

I think its to early to tell, but soon enough we will be forced to use it, unless you dust off that old copy of Windows XP. I suppose you could use a early copy of Windows 7 and don't update it. 

I guess time will tell.

so basically Windows 10 is pathetic and can be classed as a virus and malware / spyware, how sad Microsoft are so desperate to survive they have to con people into thinking it's free and then infect their PC with spyware terrible, but Microsoft have built a business on rubbish and a monopoly putting companies out of business or simply buying a program and labelling it with Microsoft whatever

One thing I can thank Microsoft for is providing me with a business fixing up their OS I personally don't use Windows except when I have to fix a PC I use Linux which has grown from strength to strength, it does more than what I need and just works ( Most of the time ) :-)

Hi GuiltySpark,
thank you for your opinion I will never trust Microsoft they just don't get it always using sneaky underhand methods zero respect only come in contact with their stuff when fixing it

Microsoft are creating user profile of people and storing it in a massive super computer. 

Who knows what and why they storing your personal data for. How safe is that data? is it encrypted? What type of data are they collecting? can someone hack in and see it? are they selling it to marketing companies or government. I guess we will never know. 

Maybe we are blowing it all out of proportion? There is a lot of different story's floating about, not sure what to think anymore. I know that a lot of people are rolling back to what they had before. I think what would of been a better approach is a opt in or out button, because even if you disable a lot of features, it still collects data and that operating system is build to use cortana and other features that collect data. It needs to collect data to learn what you like and build up a profile of you.

Maybe we are all being paranoid? I think I will wait before I roll out all my machines to Windows 10. They work just fine as they are and its not going to change my life upgrading to Windows 10.

Google has been collecting personal data for years and that data has proven to be valuable. I've got only one of my bench computers running Windows 10 but all of my other rigs are not.

windows 10 is a small part of data collecting world
like I said pretty much any technology can track you so hide and ducking from windows 10
because it can track you spy on you makes no sense.if you tell me you are staying away from windows 10 because it have more bugs to work out then I can understand.
