Hello,
I upgraded one of my Window 7 pro PC's a month back and it went well until it rebooted, at which time the USB ports (all of them) failed to work. After hours of troubleshooting, including help from MS, ASUS, and a host of savvy PC techs, it was decided that the issue could not be resolved and I should do a roll back to old OS. Which I did. (A whole host of new issue arose from that option that I am still fighting. From secondary drive not registering at boot, to hang freezes without warning.)
Any ways, I decided to do a complete fresh install of windows 10 for the system. I picked up a second SSD (OS) drive and will do a fresh install of windows 7 pro then upgrade to windows 10 and then do a fresh install of windows 10.
My question is, since I have already performed and upgrade on this system and had to roll it back due to compatibility issues, will I be able to do an upgrade a second time?
The ASUS tech believes it was an issue with the EUFI legacy USB support not being changed prior to upgrading that caused the cascading failure oft he USB ports. The MS Tech support team believe it was a simple fix to just use a PS2 mouse/keyboard to enter into the system device manager and uninstall the USB ports. (I did do this option and it didn't correct the issue - hence the roll back.)
I guess what I am asking, since the answer isn't really out there, if you do an upgrade and roll back can you re-upgrade later?
Any info is greatly appreciated.
