Has Anyone Ever Used Clean Master For PC?
#1
Has anyone ever used Clean Master for PC? We're all familiar with Clean Master for Android but, very few people, especially outside of the tech community know that they also have a desktop application https://www.cmcm.com/en-us/clean-master-for-pc/ Unfortunately, the mobile app has come to a fair bit of scrutiny due to privacy concerns. It is because of this I'm hesitant to try out the desktop application. Brian can you do a review of it?

I've actually been testing this out for the past few days on Win7 inside a VM and so far it does what it says, the only thing that may get some users is the level of scanning and what a lot of those files are for and whether or not they should be removed.
But you could say the same about CCleaner set up in terms of what you wish it to scan for.

Incidentally, if you don't want it to run at start up you can turn those functions off in the settings menu in the top right, looks like a downwards eject symbol.

Am still waiting for something drastic to happen but so far everything seems smooth.

Oh cool. But, yeah, I'm guessing I'm looking for the fire. With the Android app, stuff like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TiCK2hp_LRM is one reason why I don't use the mobile app anymore.. I mean I use to before they started with the invasive 1st party marketing tactics etc. but, then it just all went south. It use to just get the job done then the adverts started. At times it felt as if it was deleting things it shouldn't be deleting so, I stopped using it.

What I'm afraid of is that they'll start to do the same thing with the desktop application. It would be nice to see an in-depth review though.
