Intel Graphics Drivers for Linux
#11
i didn't know it
no longer supporting because of the age of the hardware

can i buy new graphics card instead?

#12
i have deleted windows 10 and installed Linux Lite x64 on my laptop, latest updates

VLC media player seems it is vertical sync on my laptop, how do i check if it's installed or not?

#13
yes you can buy a video card that support Linux driver

but you don,t have enough air flow in that case for a video card

and the motherboard is probably too old for adding any kind of video card

now your laptop probably come with generic video Driver install

you will have to check and see if you have any proprietary video Driver available

Graphics Drivers and Setup

#14
no additional driver available

#15

#16
can i use my laptop even there is no additional driver available?

#17
yes because you said VLC media player seems it is vertical sync

which mean's Linux generic video Driver are working pretty well

how is Linux lite working generally on the laptop

I think Manjaro would work way better on the dell destop

#18
yes it is

sorry, i don't have dell desktop

Linux Lite doing great on my laptop

i am using Linux Lite which used to be preinstalled win8.1, upgrade to win10, then clean reinstall win10, can i use Linux Lite on my modern laptop?

Changed in BIOS settings before i installed Linux Lite on my modern laptop:
Secure boot: disabled
USB 3.0: disabled
Virtualization technology: disabled
Boot mode: CSM
Did i correct the settings in BIOS settings before i installed Linux Lite?

#19
sorry its HP Compaq dc7800 ya Manjaro Linux should work pretty well on that

Linux lite would work great on a modern laptop because it light wight

you can leave

USB 3.0: enable

Virtualization technology enable

leave Secure boot: disabled

#20
thanks for the reply

how about about
Boot mode: CSM
Virtualization technology: Enabled (VT-x Only) <-- I don't see "Enabled", on my modern laptop, all i can see "VT-x Only", is it ok?
USB 3.0: Enabled
Secure Boot: Disabled

i will try Manjaro Linux if have time
