Windows 10 image links broken
#1
Hi Guys
After the November update for Windows 10 I seem to have lost the majority but not all image links when visiting web pages and also in my emails. It's an intermittent problem and when I try to visit a webpage I am timed out a lot of the time. When I visit youtube a lot of the image links are missing and i'm just presented with greyed out windows. These are still clickable but the image links are missing.
Images that are on file in pictures are perfectly ok.
I have tried system repair and finally reset but no problems found and after reset I had exactly the same problems.
Speed tests have shown a download speed of 15/20mps and my ISP has reset my internet connection and found no problem.
My desktop pc running windows 10 is wired to the router which seems to be working ok and my windows 7 laptop which is connected to the router with wifi is running fine with no image loss.
All drivers are up to date and showing no problems.
My pc is four years old.
Any ideas would be much appreciated.
Thanks Geoff

Thanks Compton

That's what I was hoping Microsoft would do when it first happened... patience is a virtue I suppose!!

Are you using Microsoft Edge? or another type of browser like Google Chrome, Firefox etc. If you are using Microsoft Edge, try download chrome and please test with that browser and see if the problem goes away.

If it does then we might be able to fix issue with Microsoft Edge.

Hi Bri

I'm using Edge, which I thought might be the problem. I downloaded Google Chrome and the same problems occur. It's all a mystery??

Thanks

Can you try and be a little bit clearing on your issue or show screen shot or shot clip?

I wonder if its a File Associations issue? try this site its worth a try.

You can also try this tool "file association fixer 2 windows 10,8, 7"

I found this also or am I barking up the wrong tree here?
Why can't I see pictures on websites?

I will try the file association fixers.

Please find attached screen shot of email. You will see some but not all image links are broken and probably next time I open the email the images will be displayed, but maybe not? When I clicked on your links I was timed out but will probably be able to connect next time?

Thanks

This is a typical youtube home page with image previews, some image previews greyed out but they are clickable.

Also a screen print of a timed out or cannot reach this page when I tried to follow one of your links.

I look every day for new updates, there was a patch put through about a week after the November update, but my system remained the same and there has been a few updates since but no improvements.
