Okay thank you for your reply.

could it be an driver or windows issue too?

I was planning on RMA the Motherboard but indeed the SSD seems more likely. I will contact them Monday.

Thank you.

I exchanged my Motherboard for a new one but the problem still persist..

I think it has to do with the CPU. I clocked it to 5 GHz once and the IOPS went up a little but.

Maybe CPU degradation? I really see no point why it shouldn't get around 100K IOPS since i seen people hitting it on the net and i could get it with my 840 EVO..

Maybe CPU RMA time than.

You got a new motherboard already in 1 day with RMA? That don't seem right. How is that possible, they would have to receive motherboard and then process it and then test it. Then decide whether to give money back or replace the motherboard. Its very difficult to get new motherboard replaced, especially if there is nothing wrong been found with that motherboard. Where did you get the motherboard?

I went to my retail in Netherlands and said that i wasn't getting the advertised speeds and that i talked with Gigabyte and i could return it to them.

Okey they said and gave me a new one. That's why i love my retail store, they are amazing with RMA.

But still, the issue persist. I really want to know if its compatibility, hardware issue or software. I really don't understand this and i am breaking my head over it lol

Its not that i suffer from performance but its just odd that i get such low IOPS compared to what i used to get with the 840 EVO and what the guy over at tomshardware got on his cheapo board.. no offense of course towards him but still..

Would an secure erase do anything good? I checked if the SSD is correctly aligned and it is, there is no corruption whatsoever. I do not stop until i know for sure what is going on here.

There are many other users with the same issue you are describing with that m.2 ssd. You may not have any issue with your motherboard or processor.

HERE IS JUST ONE EXAMPLE

Thnx, i guess we have to wait for a proper firmware. The performance is great though, booting is dealt with in a matter of seconds and programs load much faster than on my SSD.

The only disappointment is the low IOPS in benchmarks but that's about it.

As I said before a while back

Quote:Things to try and consider:

  • Firmware Update for Samsung 950 Pro (Could be a known issue and they are fixing it)
  • BIOS Update
  • Motherboard Chipset Update
  • Samsung 950 Pro might not like or preform as well with AMD FX CPU or Chipset
  • Overheating can cause a lot of problems, Samsung 950 Pro uses a lot of power and runs super hot, so make sure your temps are nice and cool and case is free from dust and has plenty of air flow.
  • Another reason could be a bottle neck in the system. Remember you're system is only as fast as the slowest component. (But this does not seem to be the case for you)
  • It seems a lot of people are getting different results from Samsung 950 Pro, this will come down to the technology that is in that computer I would suspect, maybe in time they will release a firmware update to fix these known issues.
  • I notice you have a big overclock, this could be causing a issue or chip could be failing. (Try stepping it back to stock speed to see if this fix's he issue.

Yes indeed and i think you are right. So i just have to be patient (which is not my strongest side lol) and wait for an proper firmware.

Could this firmware also solve my ID 129 warning in event viewer?
