Computer turns on but no display on moniter
#1
hey guys,

I haven't touched my computer in months and recently I tried turning it on. the computer itself turns on the fans are spinning and the lights are working as well. But when I turn to my monitor there is no display.

Here's what I've tried:
1) Remove the RAM clean it also switch the spots
2) Remove the silver battery thing for 5 min then put it back in (tell me what it is called)
3) Hold the power button for 60 seconds while it cord is unplugged

None of these work so what should I do?
Also, I have taken the computer to a repair guy

What was the repair guys diagnosis?

Do you have another known good monitor to try?

Does the computer have a video card or is the video integrated?

Check the monitors settings such as Contrast, it's an old trick / joke that people like to play on each other but it's always good to do the basics first.
And as Tim says "Try a different Monitor".

The repair guys diagnosis was just a problem with the memory.

It could be about your graphics card take it out and put it back in. Also make sure that the cables are in right.

Could also mean the graphics card is broke to try a different graphics card to see if it works. If it does work you may need to buy a different graphics card.

Message me if this works or not thanks.

Also one more thing. Make sure you have not broke ant pins on your motherboard were the CPU goes as that can stop it from working and will mean you need a different motherboard.
