Win 10 0n External (USB connected) Drive

Some of my clients would like to try Win 10 before upgrading but have little room left on internal HD. What would be the best procedure for install on an external HD and have dual boot option available?

I have not used my upgrade from Windows 7, I went and brought a copy of Windows 10 Pro for £11 and put it on a new SSD and dual booted Windows 7 and Windows 10.

just create a virtual box or VMware player with a dual boot and let them test that way you can do using a flash drive
