#31
Shut the PC down completely
Begin tapping the F2 key as soon as you press the power button to access BIOS
Use the arrow keys to access the Advanced tab in BIOS
Select External Drive Boot and change the setting to Enabled
Arrow over to the Boot tab and make sure that USB Device is set in the boot order so that it is above the internal hard drive
Arrow over to the Exit heading in BIOS and select Save Changes, press the Enter key
Select Yes and press Enter to confirm the changes
Select Exit Setup and press Enter twice to confirm exit

Okay so I just pressed the Assist button to access BIOS. External Drive Boot was under the Boot tab. I've also brought the External Device above the Internal Hard Drive. And I've just exited the BIOS. I'm now brought to the Assist menu. I'm going to Exit and Restart from Windows.

When I reboot it says stuff at the bottom "Diagnosing your PC." But now it's saying "Your PC did not start correctly"

It's strange. My external USB for my mouse and keyboard was being recognized earlier. The USB is not in at the moment though in case it'd interfere.

In the Assist menu, I chose start up using media; however, it said it failed.
Either the USB is not inserted properly (which it is).
Or
There are incorrect BIOS settings. Check under Boot

OKAY I CHANGED THE BOOT MODE TO LEGACY AND THE SYSRESCUE HAS SHOWN UP.

A scan is in progress

I've just woken up and checked the scan (it is complete.).
Scanned objects: 3442660
Number of infected objects: 2
Number of clean objects: 1

did you update SysRescue virus database before running the scan ?

can you upload the sysrescue scan logs

I could not update it because I'm unable to connect to the WiFi. The tutorial suggested that I should just move on that step. And I don't think I'd be able to upload the scan logs because it's quite lengthy and I can't connect to my WiFi.

updating the virus database is important
can you switch over to your Ethernet connection ?

I've tried connecting the Ethernet cable. I did it as soon as my computer got infected. It didn't connect. I'll try again (when I get home) with the SysRescue running.

Okay so the Ethernet cable is working. I pressed update and it is updating.

At the end of the first log it says

Notes:
[1] Object has been deleted as it only contained the virus body
[4] Object cannot be opened. It may be use by another application or operating system.
