I installed it from a USB stick and it was a bit sluggish to start, but from CD it was fine, but your computer specs look well good enough, have you tried to re download a fresh copy

Hi Guys,
I Booted into Hirens Mini XP (The same Disk) on my old computer running windows 7 and it worked fine...all tools and Mouse works too.
So it seems to be a setting in the BIOS that's not right...this BIOS is much more complicated than the old computer for me...can anyone tell me what settings should be. Mother Board is Gigabyte B85M-D3H...manual doesn't tell me very much. Thanks Guys.

I would say its got to be Microsoft Wireless Mouse issue, can you not try another mouse, sometimes wireless mouse don't work in recovery environment or live cd, Acronis have this trouble a fair bit. Not sure there is a setting in the BIOS that will solve your issue. I never use wireless keyboard or mouse because of that reason, its very common for them not to work in that type of environment.

Hi Guys,
What a nightmare I've just had...there are only a few things in the BIOS I touch...System Time and Date and Boot Order...nothing else. So in my attempts to solve the Hirens problem I reset the Boot order to what I had before just in case it might fix it.
I then Booted into Hirens Mini XP but have the same problem...I hit Reset and removed Hirens...but instead of Booting into Windows 7 I got this massage...Reboot and Select Proper Boot Device… or Insert Boot Media in Selected Boot Device and Press a Key.
Having never seen this massage before I Booted to my W7 repair disk...but when it scanned for the OS it wasn't there. Hit Reset removed W7 disk and tapped F12 which shows boot Menu from menu I saw my Hard Drive went to it and hit Enter and Windows 7 Booted. I then googled that massage and got a fix which was...
Go into BIOS...BIOS Features...Hard Drive BBS Priorities...Boot Option 1 - P1 My HDD with OS on it. Boot Option 2 - P3 My other HDD. Go to Boot Option Priorities...Boot option 1 My DVD burner. Boot Option 2 - My HDD with OS on it...Exit and Save and Windows Boots normally again.
Still have Hirens problem...as to your suggestion Brian I have a Micorsoft corded Mouse which plugged into a USB port...works well in Windows with a nice red light...but in Hirens Mini XP it doesn't work either and the red light is off...when I boot back into Windows it works fine just like the cordless Mouse. I think Hirens is the problem and not my computer as all my other CD/DVDs... Kaspersky Rescue disk...Macrium Reflect...Memtest...Redo Backup and my Windows 7 Repair disk all work and so does both Mice.
When Hirens Mini XP loads it seems to be trying to search for drivers which it can't find...anyway I'm not going to worry about it as I wont use Hirens again. I've learnt a few things from this experience...My settings in the BIOS were correct...Nothing wrong with mice or computer and have plenty of medication on hand for your nerves.

- Have you tried to download it again?
- Disable Secure Boot if you have it
- Make sure all drives are installed, check Device Manager
Not sure what your problem is Bill with looking at the machine. Like I said never had this issue with Hirens in all the years that I have used it.
Your Mouse must be getting disabled or Hirens don't reconise that Mouse once Hirens is booted up, very strange. You could try
hirens restored edition this version haves Windows 7 Live. It could be your system don't like Windows XP Live.
Sorry not much help, its hard to fix these type of issue without looking at the machine.
