Hi guys.
I tried creating a USB recovery drive for a friend following this video:
It doesn't create the USB and tells me that:
"There was an error creating the recovery USB"
More info:
I tried doing this for a friend over TeamViewer (possible cause?)
Both machines are Windows 10
USB was formatted (fat 32)
USB is USB 3, tried in USB 3 port and USB 2.0 port. Tried different USB.
Both machines free from malware/viruses (friend's laptop is brand new HP with all latest drivers and windows updates)
Firewalls and security protection temporarily disabled.
Opened MSConfigure and ticked 'hide Microsoft' and unchecked everything else. Restarted but then couldn't use TeamViewer to test! So verbally told friend to reverse msconfig changes then reconnected to TeamViewer.
Didn't want to go down the whole sfc /scannow route nor the repairing Windows route as there were time restraints. He does have a recovery partition on his c:drive, but that's not a safe option as we know, plus, I decrapified his laptop from bloat ware and trials etc to create a clean recovery USB.
Any ideas?
