[Solved] Windows 7 installation stuck at 87%
#1
Hello,

Right now, I've got Windows 7 64bit, but I've got some serious problems which I can't repair anymore. The only way is to upgrade it. In that way, you won't lose your data.
So I did that, but when the installation was at "Gathering files, settings, and programs", it got stuck at 87%.
I did everything shown at this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RC_5eb9wTfk

What am I'm doing wrong?

How long did you leave it?

I think it was for about 4 hours. Is that too short? I don't know how long it will take.

Before going any further I would just check the health of your hard drive.

I downloaded the program and runned it. The program says that the condition of the hard disk is good.
So that isn't the problem.
Do you know any other solution for this?
Would appreciate that very much! Wink

It could take more than 4 hours as it depends on how much "stuff" you have on the hard drive. I have read that people have had it running for 24 hours+ before it completes.

Haven't heard of that yet. Well, maybe I just have to run my computer in the morning and see how far it will come in the evening.
Thanks mate!

Runned the installation for 24 hours now, and still stuck at 87%.
I think there is a problem.
Any solutions for this?

Thanks in advance! Smile

I would run a chkdsk on your hard drive and then try again.
