Setup has failed to determine supported install choices
#1
I took my computer to get it fixed and the techs told me to reinstall Windows with the product key.

I have tried doing it but I keep on getting this error

Any ideas?

How are you trying to install Windows exactly? Please be as precise as possible

you may also wish to describe the problem because of which you had to take your computer to the techs..

  1. Are you trying to installing Windows from the desktop?
  2. Are you booting to Windows CD or USB to install Windows?

1) Yea i guess i am installing windows from the desktop, except the resolution is a bit wonky and won't go to the normal 1920x1080.

2) I have got two CDs for windows 8.1 which i am putting into my computer then running it then entering the product key, after that i get the error above. I am using the 64 bit cd in my computer as it is 64 bit.

I am trying to install windows with a CD i have that has windows 8.1, the reason i took my computer to the techs was because my system would not boot up and i was always getting the 'Automatic repair couldn't fix your PC' error, i gave up trying to fix it after a while and took it to the techs. They basically wiped my SSD and told me to reinstall windows 8.1 using the same product key.
