Is Rollback RX Compatible with SSD?

Hi, I'm thinking about using Rollback RX to create snapshots on my SSD, but is it compatible?

I don't understand these paragraphs. "But, as with all garbage cleanup utilities, it is hard to get an accurate reading of the drive as RollBack Rx will take over and redirect incoming TRIM commands to other sectors to ensure the integrity of the software, and the data, is not compromised until fully available".

"In certain cases, those sectors are still protected from the automated TRIM function for a time, but if manually run by Optimizing the disk, it will reset the sectors".

You're welcome. The author says that even if the snapshots taken by RollBack Rx  are removed, they are not "actually" deleted and are marked for deletion by Windows instead just like any other deleted files

So without TRIM, every time new data is written on to the disk, the pages that are marked for deletion, are first cleaned to make space for the new data, and this makes it less efficient

Now this is where TRIM shines.....

TRIM makes sure that Windows wipes or cleans those marked pages as soon as they are marked for deletion, thereby not making it wait until it's short of space

RollBack Rx however is designed in a way that it can prevent the effect of TRIM on those pages where the snapshots are, for a limited period

The author says that even if the snapshots are removed, that is if they are marked for deletion, and TRIM is initiated, the pages where those snapshots are saved, would not be actually cleaned

It would redirect the incoming TRIM commands meant to wipe the pages where those snapshots reside, but this would be only for a limited period of time

Ok, thank you Partha, but let me just verify, Rollback RX, won't shorten the lifespan of the SSD

It shouldn't. I don't see why that would have an effect on the lifespan of the SSD
