Troubleshoot Crashing In Google Chrome

How many times have you read this "He's dead Jim." Well if you have read this, you are a Google Chrome user and yes you have experienced crashing. How many times has it crashed, well you can find out by typing in (chrome://crashes ) This will tell you how many crashes and when.

Not to worry Google has supplied tools to help you the user. All you have to do is type in the address bar. http://www.google.com/chrome/srt/ To download one of Googels tools. This tool will look for any bad programs if it finds a program or two, it removes it. Then it will ask to reset your browser settings before finishing. Resetting your browser will help in the troubleshooting process. Although Google Chrome crashes, more times than not, it's your PC. And that's where this next tool comes in.

Conflicting programs. You download software not knowing that it could cause problems, like crashing, and You can not exclude networking or malware software. Google Chrome has set up a page that will determine what software is in conflict if any. Simply open the page by typing chrome://conflicts in your address bar. If Google Chrome finds conflicting software, remove it, update or disable it,  to stop the crashing. The module may not be clear as to what software is in conflict. So you may have to Google the name. There is one other way to check software manually Google has a web page with a list of software that is known to cause crashing of the Web Browsers.  Here is part of the list.
Venturi  Firewall
WinMount
PPLive
NVIDIA network access manager
NVIDIA NTune
iS3 Anti-Spyware
SpeedBit  Video Accelerator
Folder Guide

Now flash plugins can cause crashing if you uninstall flash plugin that Chrome has and use a standard flash plugin you might just solve your crashing problem. You can read up more on this crashing here. (How To Fix Shockwave Crashes in Google Chrome).

Running a system scan can help solve this crashing problem, just open an elevated command prompt and type SFC.EXE   /SCANNOW  this will scan your system for any bad file it might have and repair them. While running this scan, it might sit on 20% awhile.  Another thing that can cause Chrome to crash is your Ram Memory. So test the PC's Ram Memory.  Here's how https://briteccomputers.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?tid=2063

That brings us to Malware/Viruses if your system is infected you could experience crashing along with a lot of other unpleasant Computer behavior. There are two major types of protection: antivirus and anti-malware.  Scanning with more than one Malware/Virus software is better.

Last but not least, is the profile in Google Chrome itself now if your profile gets corrupted Chrome will crash. To change profiles just open setting Scroll down to the people category, here you will want to add a person and then remove your old account.
