Intel DQ45CB 2 Pin Connector Question
#1
I have installed this MB in a machine I am building for my fiancé.Most of the pix of this MB do NOT show the 2 pin connector that I note in attached picture. It is right beside the IE Firewire connector. My question is ...could this 2 pin tongued connector be the SPDIF output. As stated MOST of the boards do NOT have this.I need to know as I am planning on using my old GTX260 in the machine and it has the SPDIF 2 pin output on the card for hooking up the DVI to TV.I am trying to keep her from having to buy a monitor since this machine will be a backup for her POS laptop

I talked to Intel and they said that even THEY do not have a picture of the board.(Really?)The board IS about 10 years old though.

Thank you for your help.

Edit:I had to get a magnifying glass to see the script on the MB but,the 2 pins are indicated left:negative...right:positive....and are stamped AMP-SPKR. Hope that helps

Here is the details for that mobo

Intel® Desktop Board DQ45CB Product Guide

Yellow Panel is FP Audio = Front Panel Audio

SPDIF output is missing on that motherboard picture.

AMP-SPKR I would think is for some kind of speaker.

Thank you.I already have the manual which is why I asked here. The manual from Intel didn't show it either which is why I called them. That is what I needed to know.... I guess I am going to have to use my GTX470 instead of the 260 and use the on board sound as there is no room to use a PCIE card with the video card installed...the micro board is too small for it.....you may close the thread and thanks again as always.
