Converting Windows Legacy BIOS boot to UEFI
#1
Hi Brian,

Could you do a video on how to safely change a Legacy BIOS boot device to UEFI? I know using Windows normally means such an operation is destructive, but I'm thinking if I did a full system image backup of my current Windows, change the boot type in BIOS setup to UEFI, re-install Windows then restore the backup would that work?

Also, I've heard using a Linux boot can convert a Legacy BIOS boot device to UEFI without data loss on that boot device. Is this true?

Additionally, my boot device is 2 x Samsung EVO 850 SSD 250GB drives in RAID 1 Mirroring. Does UEFI boot allow for RAID 1 boot as I really want to keep the redundancy RAID 1 offers for if and when one of the SSDs finally dies.

Kind regards
MG
