Tor isn't new it has been around for decades, stands for The Onion Router and is designed for anonymity. It's a bit like FF and just as slow.

'The Dark Web' (I hate that term) can be quite useful at times especially when doing some web forensics as commercial search engines like to remove leaked data that's needed for research.
If you are going to take the anon route then keep the browser as is no add-ons, yes the pages will be slow due to proxies being used and adverts on every site but the extensions will definitely give you away.
