Hi guys,

When it comes to installing your chipset driver, after it installs, should I restart the computer immediately for it to take affect and then install the rest of the drivers? Or restart later after I have installed the rest of the drivers.

What do suggest?

Some drivers will require you to reboot before they work correctly, sometimes you can get away with not rebooting for a number of driver installs at one time.

OK, after I install the chipset driver, do I need to restart the computer before installing the other drivers or can I get away with no rebooting and install the other drivers then do a reboot.

They'll usually state whether or not a reboot is necessary in most cases you don't need to worry unless you're unsure of the drivers you install in which case a reboot after each install may alert you to a wrong driver but it's time consuming.

OK then thanks Guiltyspark, I always get my drivers from the manufacturer page and normally I restart later but I just wanted to be sure, cheers!

RECdevicehelper the reason why you have to reboot sometimes is because the file may be in use by another program or system and it will need to be rebooted so it can install the drive or software.

So you are saying when it asks me to restart after installing a driver, I should restart the computer and then continue to install all the other drivers.

It's up to you if you wish to restart at that very moment or later. I don't see what difference it would make in the installation of the other drivers.
