Inaccessible Boot Device error after turning off superfetch and readyboost
#1
Alright so i turned off superfetch and readyboost i goto restart my computer and during startup BAM inaccessible boot device bsod are those 2 settings lile integrated into windows 10 or what? Windows 10 is really starting to make me lose it, theres times i reinstalled windows 10 and that stupid bsod pops up i mean i can understand if my hd is going bad but each test i do on my hd says passed but yet that crap comes up. Like i unplugged all my usb and just everything externally unplugged nothing was connected but what my laptop came with on the inside and same bsod and it wont let me boot into safe mode or the desktop and startup repair didn't help. Im wiping the hard drive now but i just want the stupid bsod to stop.

Should i just turn off uefi, install windows 8.1 i wish i could just install windows 7 on it but that cause problems.

Okay so i wiped my hd using the dod 3 pass method then turned off uefi and reinstalled windows 10 home 64 bit which i downloaded using Microsofts media creation tool then burned the iso to a blank dvd well the installation went great no errors but i noticed 3 things

1. When id restart or power my computer on itd boot up and there's a windows logo which i never seen before when uefi was enabled.

2. Right before i get to the logon screen the background is blue then goes to the windows walpaper thats selected by windows during the install.

3. The fast boot option isnt displayed in the power options at all when i had uefi enabled but when just lagacy boot is enabled the fast startup in power options is there.

So what do you guys think is going? Maybe my bios is messed up,i have a bad disk im curious because im tired of getting the inaccessible boot device bsod. My hard drives healthy says seagate tools for windows,my hp hd diagnostic for the hard drive says my hd is healthy, and then crystal disk info says my hd is good also.

Go into the BIOS and set the Windows Boot Manager as your first boot option.

Also try booting into safe-mode.

Still no joy? Boot to a Windows CD or USB and navigate to Command Prompt and type chkdsk /f /r

Here's how:

1. Change BIOS to boot from CD or USB
2. Boot from Windows CD or USB
3. Choose your language, then choose repair this PC, NOT install.
4. Choose Troubleshoot
5. Choose Advanced
6. Open Command Prompt and type chkdsk c: /f /r

I tried both methods and it didnt work so i just installed 8.1 and everything works fine including fast start in the power options so i think the solution is that my windows 10 disk was bad so now im probably gonna keep 8.1 on my machine but still make a copy of both windows 10 32bit and 64bit
