Help to Recover & Restore deleted/formatted/overwritten AVCHD MTS, M2TS video files
#1
Hello, I need help with a serious issue that happened last Sunday! I was rushing to film an event. So I tried to save all my pictures and video files in my camera on my PC. After I used copy, cut and paste, I started using the Sony Handycam CX150 camcorder after it executed previous data and probably formatted old files. I came back home thinking I saved all my prevous work in my PC but, it did not! it just saved some of it, but it did not save video files of 3 recent events which were very important! I don't know why it saved pictures and not the videos. Anyway, I tried to use Recuva, but it did not help at all! I really need help to recover all those 3 video files because they were all important, one of them is a wedding, other two are community events. I need a software that can guarantee recovery even if I have to pay extra $$$ thanks for your time

I have more but you would have to use a Linux disc for them.

You could also try GetDataBack

Thanks, I did try Autopsy, it did not recover the video files I was looking for! it shows some other video files (while the ones I lost were playing pieces from background on and off!) I don't know why it was doing that! is this because I've used to record with the camera and overwrote the old files? if so, how would I recover? is there any software that can recover video files even after files were deleted, overwritten, formatted, executed and I've used the camera to film and probably overwrotte the old files? I hope there is a solution...
The other software PhotoRec, I could not get it right how to use it!

Please try this software as suggested in the link below. It can help if the files were deleted from the handycam

If the data has been overwritten a number of times then the chances of recovery are virtually zero.

Thank You! I bought this software "Jihosoft" it did recover some files even older than a year that I did not really need them, but the recent files I needed the most were not recovered! it recovered corrupted files with the upper half of the pictures and videos missing! you can't see the full picture or video at all!!! its very strange, if the handycam memory were to be overwritten/formatted then it wouldn't recover any of the old files fully! I found it unbelieavable that the software is able to recover older files but not the recent files that i lost and needed the most!!! any other idea at this point? thank you for your time and help

Can only suggest in the future... Never use cut and paste when transferring important data. Use copy and paste first, then verify that the files have transferred before you delete them off the camera.

GetDataBack is my go-to tool for data recovery, probably one of the best data recovery software out there.

I have tested many different types of software and this never fails to impress me.

You are welcome, Blue Ocean. I would ask you to try the following software along with what Brian suggested and preview what they could recover before you decide to make the purchase

M3 Data Recovery, 7-Data Recovery Suite, EaseUS Data Recovery, Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery, Disk Drill and Wondershare Data Recovery
