How can i verify a windows product key
#1
I have a few windows product keys some for windows 7 and some for windows 10 but I just separated the keys by putting the windows 7 keys underneath the word windows 7 and the same for windows 10.

My question is how can I verify what product key is being used and what key isn't being used?

The second question is that I have a windows key that came from a clients computer that she got from an online college will I need a specific version of windows 7 to be able to activate the key if her hard drive was to ever fail?

on your first question you will need to call Microsoft to ask them  Microsoft Volume Licensing Activation Centers worldwide telephone numbers

second question if she  got it from a  college they should have information on which version of windows it will activate on

Oh because I have 3 windows 10 keys and 3 windows 7 keys but I only know 1 product key of windows 10 and windows 7 that is in use for sure but the others I'm like argh what product key is not in use lol

I know its windows 7 home premium on the laptop that she had but I wasn't sure how many versions of windows 7 home premium there are lol

I guess it would be easier if Microsoft had a website that would just give the information

What you could do is run ProduKey first and save the existing product key for your Windows, so that you have the key with you if your Windows gets activated with another key

Next you could just click on Change product key from the system properties and see which one's for what

If you want to check you product key on the computer do this below:
  1. Open Command Prompt by right clicking start button and select "Command Prompt (Admin)"
  2. In the command prompt, type the following command:
    slmgr -dli
  3. Press Enter and it will reveal a partial product key
