Black Screen Can't Access Bios
#1
TOSHIBA Satellite L50-A-160 PSKK2E won't boot.
I removed the OS-disk before disabling secure boot etc. On top of that I lost the disk on the floor, and it will not function anymore.
The laptop won't recognize a new disk, and it won't boot from usb. (Installed Win 10 x64 Pro on the disk)
It powers on, but I'm unable to choose boot medium, or to enter Bios. Tried Power on + 0, F2, F12 and Esc. Nothing happens. The fan starts running after a while, but it shows only the Toshiba start screen (BIOS-screen?), and does not start Windows or ask from where I want to boot or if I want to enter BIOS.

I bought it used one year ago. I have NO Guarantee

I've done most of the usual stuff. Removed battery, removed bios-battery. Did a hard reset to reset bios. Did a reset with the reset button on the mainboard. Did the hold power button for 30 secs without battery or power.
Tried starting with and without battery, Removed one ram, then the other, tried new ram. etc
Power supply and BIOS battery shows correct Voltage. Power is entering the PC....
I have to remove secure boot in BIOS. I guess I also should allow both GPT and MBR.
HOW do I get into the BIOS when I cannot start Windows?
I've been googling for days, and found nothing. Please help!

So your problem now is black screen and you can't access bios, this is a hardware issue by the sounds of it.

it may sound like if I am asking  things you may have  already try just want to be clear here

ok you have 2 8GB memory,, did you remove one of memory stick try booting to bios?

could be a bad  memory slot

did you test the memory one at time one memory stick into  one memory slot one at a time?

what is the manufacturer and model number of memory stick's ?

I have 16 GB RAM Crucial that worked fine before I destroyed the HDD. I was unable to change the UEFI BIOS from inside Windows, because I couldn't boot to the original defective disk. I hoped to install a SSD, and boot fra a USB stick, but the old way does not work.
The security of UEFI demands booting from the original disk, and also that the disk is GPT-formatted. This should have been changed BEFORE i tried to change to SSD, but I didn't know that. How do I enter the UEFI BIOS outside Windows?

billingstad was the a hardware change that took place before the issue listed in the title took place?

Do you turn on your computer and as soon as the fans start turning are you tapping f2 before the post screen? If not you should keep tapping f2 until you see the bios

1. I removed the original OS-disk in order to install a ssd. The pc wouldn't boot into BIOS.
2. Before I could put the original OS-disk back, I lost it on the floor, and it wouldn't boot. I also tried it on another pc, and in an external docking station. It is broken.
3. I now know that I should have disabled SECURE BOOT, and allowed both MBR and GPT formatted disks BEFORE I tried to install a new disk. The UEFI BIOS is totally different from an ordinary BIOS it seems.

I don't know how to change the BIOS (I have removed and put back Power, Laptop Battery and BIOS-Battery at the same time), and I cannot find anything about the problem in the documentation.

Is the motherboard/BIOS somehow broken? It worked fine before removing the original OS-disk. There are NO beep-codes at startup! Heeelp!
