#1
Can I reinstall win7 with this different method? it can kept my pictures, documents, videos, music files on Windows.old folder after reinstall

Hi f23948,

It is nice to have you back Smile

Yes, you can reinstall windows 7 using this method, as along as you have optical disk drive installed inside your computer and you have a Windows 7 installation disk. However, I wouldn't suggest taking the risk of windows storing all your personal files in windows.old folder, I would backup up all your data to a external drive such as a USB or an External Hard Drive.

The reason I think you should do it this way is because in the past, I have had issues when I asked for it to create a windows.old folder and it never did. I had to do data recovery Sad

It is safer if you backup all important data to a USB or External Hard Drive.

Hope this helps

Kind Regards

can i reinstall windows 7 even though it says Microsoft Says No More Windows Security Updates Unless AVs Set a Registry Key?

#6
These are the Antivirus companies that do and don't put registry key in windows, if your using one of the  AV that don't add reg key then you wont receive updates.

You could do that I guess.
