Dear forum members,

Hope all of you doing well! I need you help again regarding a PC running Windows 8.1 Pro x64. Issue that is facing that machine is that when get power is starting normally but in login section its going black and unable to access the desktop. Only solution that I found out is by pressing Ctrl+Shift+Esc and to write New task with text explorer.exe after that is going to desktop. Please could you give me any idea/steps to fix that mentioned issue. Many thanks in advance.

With respect to everyone, I think we should first make sure his data is backed up before proceeding with any types of repairs.

Kdedoviq,

Once you are able to access the desktop, please backup any important data to a USB flash drive or external hard drive.

Hi Kdedoviq,

Have a look at this article and try the steps to see if it fixes the issue:

Even though it is for Windows 10, this guide should also apply for Windows 8.1
