Question about readyboost
#1
Alright so you can use sd cards, flash drives etc and there's a certain read and write speeds that each device needs to have before the device can be used for readyboost but why cant you use an internal hard drive that windows is installed to as ready boost?
I mean the sf.cache sits on the ready boost device kinda like how the windows swap file sits on the hard drive that windows is installed to, so why couldn't you add the keys on a windows hard drive or even just a second hard drive that's sitting under the windows hard drive that an honest ready boost would have ?

I mean its strange how its not showing the readyboost in the hard drive properties tab. If you look at the following registry key
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\EMDMgmt"
Emdmgmt key is where the information about if the device is compatible or not with readyboost also if you look in the sub keys of emdmgmt youll see a list of all the storage devices that have been attached to the computer including the hard drive.

ReadyBoost works better with Flash Drives than HDDs, in fact a HDD would actually be slower even though the data transfer suggests it would be quicker, this is down to how ReadyBoost functions over virtual RAM as opposed to Physical RAM.
