If that's the case then it still is simply a trial version. A long trial at that.

well they did ask if you want to activate the application or upgrade protection

which I really can't blame them for  doing that

to be fair when you look at other free AV they display   Ads

some even  ask you to Enter an E mail  just to activate  the license

with  Kaspersky, no Ads are displayed if any don't. ask you to enter an Email to activate the license

which I think is pretty good and protection is pretty good also  Smile

I don't see "Free For One Year" so it may reset after 365 days. If you uninstall it and reinstall it on a system that it was already on the time ticker will not change. Maybe a good way to find out, change the time on your PC a year and a day ahead... then see if it will reactivate. Idea

Edit: Maybe best to try this in a VM so it doesn't mess up the activation on the license you are using.

As I said earlier Larry, you'll get a server clock error so no updates and no activation.

Larry,  you may  be correct may re activate automatically also to GS point which is correct it will  server clock error

but I did it  just to  kinda  see what a re activation process may look like

if it does ask to activate application or automatically  re activate both ways are great

compare to when you look at other free AV we would just have to wait and see what will happen Smile
