Hi danielmbarns,
Can you please take a video of the various times when your system crashes using your phone, tablet, iPod or etc and attach it to your next reply. This will help us understand what is going on a bit better.

sounds like an overheating probem can you try doing the following task before the system crash
CoreTemp

I thought about overheating but wouldn't expect it to start to boot immediately after crash with an overheating problem. It cuts out power off and then immediately starts to boot again.

I believe in some computers there's settings in bios that tells your computer rather to stay off or rather it should turn back on after loss of power.
Id agree with Compton on it could be over heating but your issue can be caused by a number of issues. For instance: 1 overheating/dust 2 power supply/battery 3 possibly wires are not seated properly 4 bios is bad 5 hardware 6 software Etc Make sure the vents around and under your laptop aren't covered at all. It probably wouldn't hurt to get a laptop fan

Tried a different power supply, battery is fully charged, core temp is averaging about 46 c so not overheating.

ok things you already a different power adapter
ok remove the battery if the laptop have more than one memory stick remove one of them then power on the laptop check to see if the laptop will crash if it still crashing then take out that memory then try the next memory check to see if the laptop will crash if no joy then try booting safe mode then check to see if the laptop will crash what is the model number of the laptop? Also, you said it 46C is that when just power on or at idle? what the temp of the laptop when under load better yet download heavy load https://www.jam-software.com/heavyload/ run it then check the temps

Is there a stop error code when this happens? If so snap a picture and post it to this thread
