Recover Win10 from a usb at bootup
#1
Brian,
In one of your videos you detailed how to use the command sfc /scannow /offbootdir=c:\ /offwindir=d:\windows to restore windows back. My question is you stated in the video that I would need to plug in my usb stick pen with Windows 10 on it, and that after entering the above command, windows would be restored. It doesn't look like my stick pen would be pointed to by /offbootdir=c:, but rather the "system reserved" section of C:.... I have a brand new copy of windows 10 that matches the build I have on my computer. How would I enter the command above to point to my stick pen (L: drive) ? I am thinking sfc /scannow /offbootdir=L:\ /offwindir=D:\windows but I am not sure this will work. What I am looking for is a manual way to copy good windows files over bad corrupted files on a computer assuming that I can't get windows to load and have to do it from the bootup. This would be a good video for the future, if there is a way to do it. Thanks . Paul
