Windows live mail 2009 to Outlook problem
#1
Hi everyone,

I have run into a problem concerning the Outlook application from Office Professional Plus 2016. I have just upgraded a customer of mine from Windows 7 to Windows 10 Pro for his business computer, to use his business emails he was using Windows Live Mail 2009 on Windows 7. Once I installed Windows 10 Pro and then installed Office Professional Plus I had planned for him to use the Outlook application for his emails from now on. The only problem with that is none of his email accounts seems to work whilst trying to add them to Outlook? There is always an error message when trying to add his email accounts. He is using 3 domain emails for e.g. ' derek@(hisbusinesnamehere).co.uk ' as the default ' personal@(hisbusinesnamehere).co.uk as his personal email account and he uses a third as a back up using his business name too which he says he pays through BT.

I thought it would work no problem because Outlook took over Windows Live Mail? I also tried adding the email to an outlook account, POP account and IMAP account.

Can anyone help with the problem? Google searches don't seem to reveal any answers.

From my experience, its either wrong ports, or the wrong server address. OR more often, a typo.
Whats the exact error message?

Oops so I did, would you mind deleting his email from your last message brian? I'm just away to try the bt settings right now so I'll get back to you Smile

I tried putting the bt settings for the email but it didn't work?

These are the settings I used (Same as the website for incoming mail):

And this is the message I got after clicking next:

If I set it to ' None ' nothing happens, it just says getting things ready and that's it? I left it for a good hour and nothing happened.
