Explorer.exe System Call Error

I started receiving an error of explore.exe system call fail and the start menu when clicking on it acts as if its just a button that has no command.

Perform SFC scan



Click 'Start' > Type cmd in the search field > Right-click the command prompt at the top of the list and select 'Run as Administrator'
Inside the command prompt, type sfc /scannow > Press 'Enter'
4. Reboot and test.

I ran sfc /scannow and even though sfc didn't say it was repairing anything my start menu is working as it should
