Automatic repair/recovery loop, C:/ empty
#1
Guys this is urgent for me so I'll make it quick. My computer which is mainly my sister's had windows 7 once but later changed to windows 10 due to a sleep mode problem anyways usually when I would turn it on it would show me an error 0x0000009e I kept pressing ENTER until it would boot to windows other times on the POST screen before going into the MBR it would tell me Disk Read Error press CTRL +Alt + Del to Restart later again the error screen and then proper boot but this time my pc wasn't having it and kept screwing up at booting until now I get the automatic repair loop I checked the hard drive via BIOS intact checked with dir on CMD wiped clean somehow checked it in depth with Mini Windows XP then I've seen everything nothing left just a WindowsRE folder Etc. I've asked one of my cousins who knows better than me and told me it is best to format it but I decided to ask you guys

Could be any of these reasons:

  • Bad MBR Configuration
  • Bad IDE/SATA cables
  • Bad Hard Drive
  • Bad Partition Table
  • Bad RAM memory
  • Check BIOS settings
  • Update BIOS version

I dont quite remember when we first bought it it had windows vista so I believe it is older yeah I think from 2008 the manufacturer is a Quest I'm sure you've never heard of it also I had another error while booting which scared me on the post screen before booting to windows it said BOOT DISK FAILURE INSERT BOOT DISK AND RESTART
I've checked the hdd it didn't detect it it saw it as bzbzbzbzbz but I fixed that the rest is the same

Bad MBR Configuration? I'm not sure the computer used to boot to windows normally after a couple of errors
Bad IDE/SATA Cables I doubt it I checked the bios the hard drive was recognized no problem there

If i understand correctly the computer which the problem is happening on had windows 7 which booted fine up until windows 10 took over which upgraded your computer to windows 10. Some things you can try are

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

https://www.windowscentral.com/how-use-dism-command-line-utility-repair-windows-10-image

You can try rolling back to windows 7

But in my opinion id figure out which o.s. i want and do a clean install of windows

Not trying to be funny, but did you eject and remove the Recovery CD? And also make sure that the first boot device is your hard drive in BIOS.

Already done it boots to windows but to recovery I ran chkdsk carelessly and now my C: is wiped I've read a few articles saying somthing about found.000 but how do I turn the files to normal? That's what I'm looking for and to fix the automatic recovery that's all
