Windows 8.1 clone
#1
Brian, Thanks for the GREAT video I saw on YouTube on cloning Windows 8.
My Desktop has Windows 8.1 64-bit on a Samsung 840 Pro SSD boot disk, and I bought another exact matching 840 pro SSD. Per your video, can I connect the new one inside my desktop, and
1) Format it ?
2) then use the MacriumReflect software to create a working, bootable backup SSD to then disconnect and securely store the new SSD, so in the future I can connect and boot it up if the current SSD fails?

or maby try with
https://redobackup.org/

l love redobackup

but i dont see the purpose in just haveing a OS on a ssd to just lay around
if it was me, i would be runnung the ssd in raid 0, and "almost" double the speed of a single ssd :-D

or, you can just make a backup of your SSD to a external usb harddrive, and then if your main ssd crash, then "buy" a new one and then restore from the backup u have maded early´er

also
you make wanna take a look at raid 1,

raid 1 is, haveing 2 disks to your pc, at the same time and store the exactly the same on these disks
so that if one of your harddrive breaks down, you will not notice any crash/break down, and your computer will continue to run fully optimal, and your computer will say that ypur one disk have broken down :-)

i dunno if that makes sense to you

but
have a look at either
raid 1
or
raid 2
