HID touchscreen Driver vanished
#1
Hi All
Ok Updated My Daughters HP X360 11-n012na Laptop to Spring Update 1803 Win 10 , Install went ok and chose to keep everything during upgrade process . When the update installed and everything seemed fine once Desktop re-appeared We noticed that the Touchscreen function had stopped Working , Went into device manager looking for the Touchscreen driver which is normally listed as HID Touchscreen driver BUT it had vanished from the list completely . I have used HP Support Assistant to try and get the Driver back ( No luck ) Been on Intel's website and used their scanning feature in the Hope the Intel I/O driver ( which I believe from research ) is the troublesome driver that allows the Touchscreen function to Work ( no luck ) , I have tried to get Device Manager to Show Hidden Devices ( No luck still not listed ) No luck whatsoever ... So can anyone on the forum suggest anything else I can try to get the Touchscreen to work again ??? I have tried pretty much every suggestion on the net regarding this issue ( which is rife ) ... Machine was originally shipped with Windows 8.1 and was Upgraded to Windows 10 during the Free upgrade option , I have also tried a couple of Windows 8.1 drivers to see if that would help but obviously No Joy ...

Many Thanks for any suggestions anyone can make to put this Problem to Bed ..

Hi Noel,

Please download and install the HP UEFI Hardware Diagnostics menu via this link. The laptop needs to be restarted once the installation is complete. Then run the hardware tests.

  • Shutdown the laptop.
  • Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
  • On the main menu, click Component Tests.

  1. Select Component Tests from the main menu
The Component Tests menu displays. Your Component Tests menu might be different, depending on the components installed on your computer.
  • Sample list of Component Tests

  • Inside the component test, you should see an option for the Touch Screen Test - Quick interactive test to determine if the touch screen is functioning correctly. To run the test, click Touch Screen, and then click Run once.

It is defo a driver issue which is not installed which is stopping it from Working ....
