random restarts
#1
I've looked through the forum and don't see this particular issue. I have a 4 month old Lenovo laptop (model 632thdld), with AMD A12-9700P processor and RADEON R7 video card.  I'm running Windows 10 Home edition. I'm getting increasingly frequent random restarts. At one point I found in event viewer an error code,  I think ending in 041, maybe 141, but can't figure out how to get back to the error codes in Windows Event Viewer.

I did some looking and code 041 seems to have to do with the video card drivers. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to the restarts, sometimes after only a couple of minutes of startup, sometimes much longer. I'm not seeing a correlation to any activity like starting a Youtube video, opening software, etc. Sometimes it restarts even when I'm not actually doing anything on the computer and it's just running.

I'd like to be able to give more info. Brian, a video about using event viewer to get error codes would be extremely helpful. Does anyone have any suggestions for this problem? Thanks.

Right click on the Windows start button down in the bottom left corner and select "Event Viewer". That is where you will find your error logs

That's much easier. Thanks. There's so much there that I'm not sure which one applies to my latest random restart. I'll write the time down the next time it happens so I can find that entry easier. Thanks!

I will certainly look in to doing a video on that topic
