Never used Xenocode, is the system fully updated with Net Framework 4.0 and 3.5?

Also make sure all third party software and windows os is updated and patched.
Update all drivers on the system as well. There must be a error code, check event viewer for error.

Has this issue just started? whats changed? Was the printer working OK before the error? if so what has changed, updates, installed software or drivers etc etc

You can find all .NetFramework versions using the registry : https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/framework/migration-guide/how-to-determine-which-versions-are-installed

There's a few other ways you can check : https://www.askvg.com/how-to-check-which-version-of-microsoft-net-framework-is-installed-in-windows/
