whoop. thx. iam going to try running this and report back.

edit...i tried running that...i already have that program, (wise uninstaller) so thats useless to me. i might as well accept i will not be getting new definition for defender - or else ill have to turn it off and get an external anti virus program like norton or other.

or should i try download this one

yes, sorry i got mixed up.. ok, i did run that program just now, i watched as it downloaded updates in the cmd. then i restarted pc. iam hoping it did the job . but if i still see notification that says update defender then i know something didnt install right. i saved the log file of the program's installing of updates titled "download.log"

You will also have to wait for them to restart after updates

Be sure you have selected the tick box that "includes Windows Defender Updates"

ive had the pc on sleepmode all night, and so far no defender update reminders. maybe that program did its job when the pc itself couldnt do it. lets wait for few days more.

as of now, my pc isnt showing any signs that defender needs to update definitions. i wanna thank britec for solving this issue
