i mean what does "VERIFY Read Data Without Transfer" do?

If you select "verify data" the program will will scan and verify the integrity of the data only. If you transfer data the data needs to be verified for integrity before being transferred. Basically verifying that the data is readable with no errors. Very similar to verifying the integrity of data backups.
