Unable to format USB
#1
I am unable to format my USB, while formating dialog box appears "The disk is write protected". I tried many solutions but they are of no use. How to get rid of this?

Hi Grim Reaper

First have a look through this thread and check for any switches on the USB device which lock it from write functionality and then try the Diskpart procedure. https://briteccomputers.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?tid=373

I had the same problem with an SD Card. Naturally I flicked the switch so it wouldn't be protected anymore. But then I had a problem, the switch fell off! I had to use scotch tape to cover up where the switch was and it worked again!

Uninstalling in device manager is more used for faulty ports I thought. Maybe I'm wrong.

Have you tried checking the devices properties to see what permissions are enabled?
