Hellow all,
I had this problem on Windows 10 when explorer.exe, or iexplore.exe since I can't remember showed an error window -just before reboot-, after pressing enter to reboot.
Britec said once in a video that explorer.exe errors are likely a beginning of infection. Also my sfc /scannow command doesnt work correctly from recovery environment and Windows defender searches for updates for too long, like there's no connection.
I'd like to know if I can look for some logs in OS and see why explorer or iexplore crashed or maybe even find a malware file?
My PC had been completely new when this happened.
Another explanation is HDD error, since I've found that completely new HDD, had working hours SMART reset, but error seek rate not 0, and some other parameter, like it was used before. And sluggish performance when opening folders on that HDD which dissapeared by itself.
Here are specs: uefi-only, gpt drive, intel i7 8th gen, pre-installed Win10.
