users delete form regedit
#1
Hi, I need someone help me, I need orientation. for accident I delete all my users from regedit ( register of windows 7).

I have to partition windows 7 and windows 8 the windows 7 is my primary, for accident I went to regedit and delete all the key, numbers and sub key of all of user for that partition ( win 7)form the register of windows 7. so, I can't enter on windows 7. I go through windows 8 to enter . when the system go up you can choose what system you  prefer start with  windows 7 or 8 therefore, when I try to enter through win 7 t it  keeps flashing ( the pointer try to loading but fall, and  keep that all time.
I use Recuva program and I did a restore of all I had done that day, but nothing.
if some can help me I will appreciate I will like to learn how can I return my users to register  ( I rescue the users number form the recycle but I don't have idea how to paste on the register) I know that maybe  I can do a restore point but I can fix it in other way.

Thank you  Smile

Hi sly,

Never come across that issue before but I would assume that the Registry is messed up and a re-install may be in order. The other option may be to reset the MBR as it may be accessing Win8 bootloader and not seeing Win7.

You can try downloading and creating a Macrium bootdisc and selecting the Win7 partition then selecting rebuild/fix MBR --- Apply and restart the machine as normal. Difficult to say exactly. Does Disk Management in the Win8 partition show Win7 partition?

Sly you should have some registry backup files you should be able to recover from.
