Hey all, how goes everyone? well I hope.
This is my first Q here and I really need some help with a USB error when putting different items into the USB ports, front or back.
A friend has bought a TomTom GO 60 and when we plug it into the USB it has a driver installation error. I have tried back and front ports, all the ports and still the same issue. I have used the device manager to remove the driver thats loaded for it and try again still no joy. I made sure the computer was looking for the right .inf file instructed by the TomTom help team.
Funny thing it still powers the TomTom so It knows its there.
We have bought a external powered USB hub thinking it might be not enough power, no joy.
This isn't the only problem device this computer has had either with USB.
There are working USB devices plugged in working fine eg: Mouse, Keyboard, Printer.
Sometimes when we get a USB memory stick that wont work in any port, we try the port on the printer and that works, but not the TomTom.
I'm not sure what to look for in the BIOS to check as the BIOS for this model is not what I'm used to. I tried a couple changes but this makes the computer unbootable so I have to reset the BIOS shorting the reset jumpers on the mobo. (GRRR)
I'm outa my depth with this, Its a Windows 7-64bit home Premium HP Slimline a5000.
It has Kaspersky Internet Security 2015 and Malwarebytes Pro installed all scanned clean.
Piece of kit is driving me crazy and I only have a few hairs left on my head and a few scratch marks.
Thanks in advance for any help.
