Came here on the back of watching britec vids on YT. I'm a 42 yr old dad of three, always liked tinkering about with computers, I used to work for Intel repairing mobos, not debugging them, just repairing, the tech just told me which component to replace and I did it. I'm a bus driver now, don't ask how that happened! Recently started an online course in PC repair just to continue it as a hobby, nearly finished with that and next step is to get the A+. Don't know where it'll bring me but I always enjoyed learning new stuff.

Well the A+ can certainly help you to get a cubicle job somewhere as a help desk. But as a computer technician myself, I've been self taught, ever since Microsoft told me it would cost me $35.00 an hour to fix what I found out was a simple fix! (Back in W98 days). I'm always learning to rely on many resources to confirm my suspicions regarding a problem with a computer. So far in the USA there are some states requiring a A+ Cert, like Texas and California. But the majority of the US does not require A+ Certs.
If you find this site helpful with your computer problems, please consider donating to Britec so he can keep it going!
