Laptop reset
#1
Gentlemen I need help, My wife has an ASUS G73J Laptop that came with Windows 7 we installed 8.1 to upgrade, but alot of hotkeys are not working,  backlit keys not working etc...  nevertheless we want to take it back to original 'Out Of The Box' state,  what is the best way to do this? PM me if you have to, wifey needs FB,
We do not have an install disc as it came built in to  the Laptop, so can I do this???
I can restore my Toshiba by holding down '0' while starting, is there something similar on the G73J ASUS?

I would also like to reset the BIOS, as a friend gave her the Laptop but left a PW that makes her type a character to proceed to Login Screen, I would like to remove that.....

As long as the recovery partition on that hard drive is still there or has not been written over you can use the recovery manager (F9) on your Asus laptop while booting.

Sounds link you may have a Hard Drive password or a BIOS password enabled. You can disable these settings in the BIOS.
