“This is Microsoft Support” Telephone Scam – SYSKEY Password
#1
A friend of mine allowed someone to access his computer remotely, after all the warnings not to, he did.  This person activated the SYSKEY log on password, and has no clue what the password is, I am going to try to use the System Rescue CD from one of the on-line video's "Reset a Windows 8 Password for FREE" web link "https://youtu.be/RyBcbK03E5I",  If any one has a suggestion on to remove the SYSKEY log on password, please let me know what process will take care of the issue with the SYSKEY log on password.

Sincerely
Myron Rust

You can also try Trinity Rescue Kit...this will clear the password.

Edit: Ah SYSKEY is a tough one... Didn't catch that.

I have an old yahoo account and I was trying to get into it because it is still the email associated with my FB. Anyway, I remember the email and password but it has been a couple of years since I have accessed the account so yahoo had another email address on file to send me a confirmation key. well I started the email like 12 to 14 years ago, so I have no idea what the other email is anymore. So I wanted to speak with someone at yahoo and looked for a customer service number and when I searched for one this is the number that popped up, "1(877)776-6261". So I called it and explained my situation to him and he wanted to remote access my computer. Now I was leery about it, which is an instinct I should have trusted, but I did it anyway. Stupid. Well all of a sudden he is in my command prompt and typing and telling me that all my devices have been hacked and nothing is secure. On and on and on. And then he hits me with it, he tells me he could fix it all for $250.00. I told him I couldn't afford that which was just me trying to politely say "NO!!!". Well then he opened NOTEPAD on my computer and wrote his name and number, which was, "Richard Brown", which was obviously a lie because his accent was Indian. And the number he wrote was, "(347}467-1109". Well I asked him if he was going to help me with my yahoo account which is what I initially called about and he refused so I said I had to go and for him to get out of my computer and he said I had to restart my computer. So I did and that is when I was hit with the Start up Password. I immediately knew I had been duped. So I called the number he left me and someone else answered, who also had an Indian accent and I explained to him what the situation is and he was telling me all kind of crap like my computer was compromised and was unsafe for the internet, and that he was within his rights. I told him he was full of it. I have a very good firewall and web security software and my computer has never given me any issues. Anyway I had to F11 and command my computer to completely reset to factory. It really sucks but is there any way we can bust these guys are maybe someone or some organization that can take this info and do something with it. Please let me know if you can. Thanks I appreciate it.

not much we can do, you should not allow anybody to remote into your computer, you should only allow people to remote in to your computer that you trust and have a good reputation also yahoo will never remote into your computer

I have found that 1234, 4321, and 0000 are a common code that they use. They don't use anything complicated because they are doing this as quick as possible.
