Windows Repair Toolbox
#41
Hi Tim, thanks for the feedback!

The "Microsoft" button download and runs Microsoft Safety Scanner, its running ok according to my tests, maybe there's been some sort of interference.  Emsisoft corresponds to the button "Mbam/a2cm". It means that if you directly click the button, it will run Malwarebytes;but if you select it as part of the unattented fix it will run Emsisoft (that info is in the button's tooltip).

In very infected systems give a first spin to some of the manual tools (malwarebytes, combofix, farbar, etc.) and / or try safe mode with network. The automatic tools, and the toolbox itself, will help but will not replace the experts work!

Ah that makes sense. I was just peaking over the shoulder of my technician so I did not notice the /a2cm button tool tip. Question: Why cant't Emsisoft have a manual run button? Or am I just missing something.

It can! It was just that in the previous versions i needed an alternative to Malwarebytes to run in unattended mode, and that alternative is Emsisoft. That's why the button has the two names. But now that i separated the automatable and the manual tools in two different groupboxes, i can have a dedicated button for Emsisoft in the  "Automatic Tools" section (that if clicked it will download and run Emsisoft Emergency Kit, if selected to the unattended fix it will run Emsisoft command line scanner); and a dedicated button for Malwarebytes in "Manual Tools" section. Thanks for the tip!

That would be good! Can you add Revo Uninstaller to the uninstall tools? I know you have others there but Revo is preferred by some.

Revo free only works with 32bit systems you may have to add that footnote to 64bit users trying it for the first time.

I was not aware of that.

Yes, that's why i chose Geek uninstaller instead of Revo. I'll not add it due to that big limitation. What want to add is a functionality that allows the user to add some tools of their preference, although i still don't know exactly how Smile

Timster, i now also noticed that sometimes the Microsoft Safety Scanner download doesn't complete, even in a clean testing environment. It won't interrupt the unattended fix, but the tool will not run. This is server side related. I will try to implement a way to make sure that the tool, if available online, gets always fully downloaded. Thank you for calling my attention to this!

Hi all,

it's now available a new version of Windows Repair Toolbox (Version 1.1.0.0). In this version I've tried to update the set of tools, improve the compatibility of the software with Windows 10, and implement several fixes and improvements.
