Hope it's OK if I chime in?
  • Remove any USB cables that are plugged in.
  • Test that Hard Drive, it could have bad sectors. (if you don't know how ask for help) How to test Hard Drive Guide
  • Test that Memory (RAM) it could be bad. (if you don't know how ask for help) Download Memtest86+ or if you have two sticks of ram remove one at a time and try and boot system, if it s the same swap ram stick with other one and try again.
  • Laptop don't POST, that's not a good sign (if Ram and Hard Drive Pass test Motherboard could be bad or its overheating and needs cleaning and new thermal compound add to GPU and CPU)
These tests need to be done so we can tell what the problem is or what to do next. Without these tests, its all guess work or going on hunch's.

I do agree with birtec but the laptop is shutting off before you can every enter the bios or enter hp PC Diagnostics

I would go with Tim start taking out the hard drive first then memory just to see if the laptop will stop shutting off

Hi, just a thought, have you tried to boot from something like a 'Hirens Boot CD' ?
You will have to set or select the PC to boot from the CD Drive first, if it isn't already set.
If it boots ok from the cd, you can run various tests etc. If you trawl the Britec website or ask here I am sure someone with more knowledge than me would be able to point you in the right direction.
Hope this might help.

Cheers

thank you thank you thank you GREAT!!!!!!

Do you have a hard drive dock that you could test the hard drive in?
